At Bass Pro
Went to Bass Pro Shop to price out replacement fish finder. I took this picture of my truck in the parking lot there.
Would the audit have uncovered this?

The SN-L's Claudette Riley is reporting the School district overspends on 2006 bond
The SN-L's Claudette Riley is reporting the School district overspends on 2006 bond
Springfield school officials spent every penny of the $96.5 million of the bond issue passed in 2006 — and then some.
The district "overspent" $1.8 million.
Steve Chodes, chief financial officer for the 24,000-student district, will discuss the spending on the 2006 bond issue at tonight's board meeting.
School officials point out they completed every project on the 2006 bond issue list. However, the bond financing office incorrectly estimated the amount of surplus that would be available.
And then, based on an incorrect surplus estimate of about $16 million, the school board approved additional projects. Those projects include paying off some of the lease-purchasing financing for the new Hickory Hills Elementary and Middle School and installing air conditioning at three schools.
Chodes said the error was discovered as the final bills came in. Several changes have resulted including moving all oversight of the projects financed by bond issues under the direct supervision of the finance department.
The board is expected to discuss tonight ways to accommodate the "overspent" amount — likely by pulling from the $50 million bond issue approved by voters in November.
Chodes said all the projects promised under the 2009 bond will continue. He hopes savings from projects that have come in under budget so far, as well as others that could come in under, will make up the amount overspent on the 2006 bond.

Fed-up girlfriend calls 911 on pot-smoking beau in Lebanon
LEBANON, Mo. (AP) — A 35-year-old man is charged in Missouri with possessing marijuana after his girlfriend called 911 and said she was tired of him smoking pot all day instead of working.
Dispatchers in the southwestern Missouri town of Lebanon got a 911 hang-up call Saturday night from a motel room. Police say officers went to the motel and were told by the woman that her boyfriend did nothing during the day but smoke marijuana.
The Lebanon Daily Record reports that the man told police his girlfriend was angry because he didn't have a job yet. He then admitted having marijuana in his car, and handed over a pipe containing the illegal drug.
He was issued a summons for possession and released.

Forget Tiger, forget the photographer, look at the guy smoking the cigar!
From the UK Daily Mail Online comes this remarkable photo and story:
Pain was using a Nikon D3S camera, with a 24-70 mm lens and a shutter speed of 1/1000 of a second.
This is the moment when Mail on Sunday photographer Mark Pain found himself in the line of fire at the Ryder Cup - and for a brief moment brought the mighty Tiger Woods to a juddering halt.
The American world No 1 was partnering Steve Stricker and attempting to chip his third shot on the final hole of yesterday morning's fourball against Europe's Ian Poulter and Ross Fisher on to the green.

But Woods hit the ground behind the ball and duffed the shot straight at Pain.
The man from The Mail on Sunday didn't flinch, however, and captured this extraordinary picture just before the ball hit his camera, bounced on to his chest and came to rest at his feet.
Woods was furious about his blunder, but neither he nor caddie Steve Williams objected to Pain's position.

Big Texan World-Famous FREE 72oz. STEAK DINNER (if eaten in 1 hour) is only for the very hungry. Many have tried. Many have failed.
How the FREE 72oz STEAK DINNER legend was BORNFrom the Big Texan Steakhouse Website:
The FREE 72-oz. steak came to life not long after Bob Lee opened the doors to the Big Texan Steak Ranch. In those days, cowboys still worked the area ranches and came into town on their days off to get a good meal and have some fun. Both of those needs could be fulfilled at the Big Texan. One day a cowboy came through the front door bragging that he was so hungry he could “eat the whole, darned cow.”
Big Texan Bob Lee and ChuckBob grinned as he put the first one-pound steak on the grill and the contest was on. When the cowboy finally yelled, “calf-rope” he had consumed 4½ pounds of tasty Texas beef. Bob vowed from that day forward the dinner would be served “free” to anyone who could complete it in one hour.
Since then, 10's of thousands people from around the world have traveled to Amarillo and attempted to eat the specially cut 72-oz. top sirloin steak, a baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail. Some have succeeded in completing the feat and joining the ranks of Big Texan champions. Many have failed. The Big Texan Bob Lee (no relation) ain't the only guy to have a steak named after him.
